STAMFORD, Conn. – June 15, 2026 – NBC Sports will present comprehensive live championship coverage of the 126th U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, NY., beginning this Thursday, June 18, through Sunday, June 21, across NBC, Peacock, and NBCSN. In addition, Peacock will stream live all day beginning with the morning tee times for all four rounds.
One of the most storied venues in championship golf, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club will host the U.S. Open for the sixth time in 2026. The field is led by World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who seeks to complete the career Grand Slam with a victory at Shinnecock.
Defending champion J.J. Spaun (No. 9) returns after his dramatic victory at Oakmont last year, punctuated by a 64-foot birdie putt on the final hole to secure his first major title.
Rory McIlroy (No. 2), Cameron Young (No. 3), Matt Fitzpatrick (No. 4), Russell Henley (No. 5), Tommy Fleetwood (No 6.), Justin Rose (No. 7), Jon Rahm (No. 8), Bryson DeChambeau and Collin Morikawa (No. 10) headline the field, with DeChambeau seeking a third U.S. Open title.
Former Shinnecock champion Brooks Koepka also returns to the site of his 2018 U.S. Open victory.
In total, NBC Sports will present 175 hours of U.S. Open Championship coverage from Shinnecock Hills across NBC, Peacock and NBCSN, featuring 31 live championship hours, with Peacock streaming wall-to-wall coverage throughout championship week, including Featured Groups, Multiview and U.S. Open All Access.
Sunday’s final round coverage will be capped by The “Rolex Hour” – uninterrupted coverage, in partnership with Rolex, for the final hour of golf on NBC and Peacock as a champion is crowned at Shinnecock.
NBC Sports will utilize approximately 90 cameras to present the 126th U.S. Open, including Emmy Award-winning drone tracing technology, and a pair of additional drone cameras covering the action.
Additional production elements include:
- Multiple cameras on 90-125 foot cranes covering holes 1, 9, 10, 16, and 18
- Bunker cams on holes 2, 7, 11, and 17
- Pinpoint green animations showing the projected breaks of putts
- A jib camera providing coverage of the 1st tee and 7th and 18th greens
- A Steadicam, as well as a depth of field stabilized camera
- Multiple robotic cameras covering the practice area, as well as in the scoring rooms for both the 9th and 18th holes
- The use of Weather Applied Metrics (WAM) to help to visualize the impact of wind and weather on ball flight and performance
