ENGLEWOOD, CO — GOLFTEC, the world leader in golf improvement, announces the opening of GOLFTEC Bangkok — its first location in Thailand — at W District, Phra Khanong. The opening extends GOLFTEC's presence across Asia, joining existing locations in China, Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and bringing the company's more-than-30-year history of golf instruction to a fourth market in the region.
Founded in the United States, GOLFTEC operates over 260 locations worldwide and has delivered more than 20 million lessons to golfers around the globe.
Same technology used on golf telecasts
At the heart of the new location is OPTIMOTION™, GOLFTEC's proprietary 3D motion-capture technology. The system pairs high-speed HD cameras with artificial intelligence to analyze a golfer's swing in real time, capturing more than 4,000 data points per swing with no wires or sensors on the body. OPTIMOTION builds a digital model of each swing to measure a variety of parameters like shoulder tilt, hip rotation, and weight transfer. The same underlying technology is being used this year to break down swings on golf broadcasts. Now students in Thailand now have direct access to this technology for their own instruction, allowing coaches to identify and correct flaws with precision from the very first session.
“Our goal has always been to help as many people as possible play better golf. Opening a GOLFTEC in Thailand is another positive step toward that bigger ambition,” said Joe Assell, GOLFTEC Co-Founder and CEO. “We’re excited to be in the center of the action in Bangkok, and to show golfers there what kinds of new tools are available to get more enjoyment out of the game.”
