Golf’s most popular and longest-running competition-based reality show returns next month from a decade-long hiatus. The show is back in a big way. The runaway Golf Channel hit show that helped launch the careers of future touring professionals like Tony Finau, Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey, and Blair O’Neal (who will now host the weekly series along with reality star and Vanity Index podcast host Well Adams) will return for its 24th season this August, a season called Big Break x Good Good.
The full season of Big Break x Good Good was taped this spring at Central Texas’ premier lakefront golf destination, the alluring Horseshoe Bay Resort. The collaboration with Good Good Golf, the YouTube golf ecosystem’s leading brand that is loaded with breakout golf media stars like Garrett Clark, Brad Dalke, and Sean Walsh, and the established, hit television show will bring disparate generations of golfing fans together for what promises to be an intriguing season of television.
The show was filmed this past spring at Horseshoe Bay Resort with 12 contestants vying for one spot in a PGA TOUR event (also hosted by Good Good Golf and played in Austin in November 2026). The season debut won’t air until August 25, but out of sheer anticipation, we’ve started a list of things we would like to see happen when aspiring professionals and social media stars vie for the top prize and a shot at golfing celebrity and competing in a PGA TOUR event:
1 - TV Audiences Discovering YouTube Golfers; YouTube Golf Fans Discovering Unknown Future Stars.
We’ve seen pages full of comments from older generation saying that they don’t think they like or that they simply “don’t get” YouTube Golf or, specifically, the guys from Good Good. It’s pretty likely, though, over the course of 10 (or so) episodes, golf fans are going to discover that, though these dedicated player/entertainers have risen to pop idol status in the game, the Good Good cast is incredibly personable and relatable. The troupe stands a better-than-good chance to win over a whole new audience of more mature golfers. In reality, they’re no different than you, me, or any of our golfing buddies living out their dreams exactly like we would if our younger selves would have been given the opportunity and an (ever-fertile) platform like YouTube.
The Big Break is always meticulously well cast, and this season is no exception. Week after week, you’re going to see high-level golf played under intense pressure by some very talented players.

Velten Meyer: German professional who overcame a near-fatal car crash
Jesse Rouse: Hard-fighting Oklahoma-bred pro
Mike Sweeney: Connecticut-based mini-tour winner and rapper (MikeyD860)
Jean-Philippe (JP) Mehu: First Haitian golfer to make the cut at the Latin American Amateur Championship
The Final 12th Contestant: Will be determined by a special "Big Break Qualifier" on GolfPass featuring Fletcher Babcock, Murphy Scott, and Nick Bienz.
2 - Heartbreak and Tension.
Let’s be honest, we all know why we watch reality shows. When the competition boils over to conflict, the plots just get juicier and more watchable. Past seasons of Big Break have contributed to memorable rivalries. One is etched so deeply into viewers’ memories that the two competitors recently met after two decades to play a nine-hole redemption match on the second nine of the Apple Rock course at Horseshoe Bay Resort.
Veteran mini-tour grinders Kip Henley and Don Donatello - even two decades after their heated matches in Big Break’s Season Two - still reveal a palpable cauldron of emotions in this recorded matchup that gives viewers a primer for the kind of face offs they will see in season 24, along with Apple Rock’s incomparable lakefront scenery.

3 - The Beauty of the Texas Hill Country.
Speaking of scenery, we can’t wait for people to see a genre of golf course that might be new to them. Many know the appeal of desert golf, mountain golf, links golf, and parkland layouts. However, Texas Hill Country Golf abides its own mini universe, embodied by wide views, wild elevation changes, peaceful but encroaching water hazards, rocky terrain all around, and bedeviling uneven lies.
Horseshoe Bay Resort’s three resort courses – Apple Rock, Ram Rock, and Slick Rock, along with the ultra-private Jack Nicklaus Signature design, Summit Rock – deliver the ultimate Hill Country golfing experience, with exposed granite, ample twists and turns and endlessly fun Bentgrass greens. Who will show pure enough nerve to tame holes like the island green fourth hole or the intimidating uphill/downhill par-four 16th on Ram Rock or solve the riddle of the 16th on Apple Rock where Pecan Creek crosses the fairway to dictate a strategic tee shot and a challenging uphill approach.
The conditions will make contestants question their club selections, battle the wind, and hit nerve-racking shots to fiendishly placed pin positions. Let’s go!
4 - Content Creator Supremacy?
If you’re a fan of YouTube Golf, you’re no stranger to the narrative that YouTube golf’s top dog is Brad Dalke who recently stepped away from Good Good Golf to, according to his announcement, find more life balance. The former All American and National Championship winner at the University of Oklahoma will be a non-playing captain along with Good Good’s Tom “Bubbie” Broders on the show this season. Another Good Good castmate Sean Walsh, who also carries a deep pedigree in competitive golf will be competing alongside a talented group of players.
Batibasaga competed on the PGA Tour of Australasia and European Pro Tour and has undoubtedly picked up invaluable experience caddying for major winner Jason Day.
The competitions they’ll face in each episode will be a good barometer of who among these 12 can best face the pressure of playing in a PGA TOUR event come November. Other competitors will have a lot to prove and the ideal platform to grind and test their mettle: Jackson can shake off the stigma that Long Drive success doesn’t generally translate to pro golf success.
Meanwhile, Popert can shine a huge light on the incredible level of talent found among competitive adaptive golfers. German-born Velten Meyer survived a near-fatal car crash in 2019 and won a Challenge Tour event three years later. Talk about grit!
The Big Break will be the perfect place for these competitors to showcase their talents as well as their personalities and to see where it can take them.
5 - Will Anyone Drive the Green on the Million Dollar Hole?
Horseshoe Bay Resort’s Slick Rock Course boasts one of the country’s most famous signature holes, the short par-four 14th which features a magnificent, often-photographed waterfall feature just in front of the tee box that can be driven through and makes for an ideal selfie location for the resort’s thousands of visitors. What makes the hole intriguing, though, are the downwind conditions that can turn big hitters loose to try to drive the well-guarded green in hopes of stealing an eagle in competition. It’s an exhilarating shot to watch as players not only need to bomb it off the tee but also cut it in from left or right to land on the green just perfectly.
YouTuber Ben Hadden was at Horseshoe Bay Resort last fall and eagled the seventh hole on the Apple Rock course after a towering 360-yard drive. He also made easy work of the downhill par-five 10th hole. The cast of Big Break X Good Good will be full of players with similar prowess, so the Million Dollar Hole could make for particularly intriguing television.
