Webb Simpson named captain’s assistant for 2026 Presidents Cup

Simpson returns for second stint as assistant for the U.S. Team

CHICAGO — U.S. Team Captain Brandt Snedeker announced today that Webb Simpson will return as the team’s third captain’s assistant for the 2026 Presidents Cup, which will be played at Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 3, Sept. 22-27.

Simpson joins 2024 Presidents Cup U.S. Team Captain Jim Furyk and 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup Team Captain Keegan Bradley as captain’s assistants for the U.S. Team. Snedeker has one remaining spot available to round out his slate of captain’s assistants.

“Webb embodies everything you want in an assistant,” Snedeker said. “He has competed at the highest level, has represented our country on various teams and he’s earned tremendous respect from players across generations. His experience as a Presidents Cup competitor, major champion and seven-time PGA TOUR winner gives him a valuable perspective. The guys tend to gravitate toward Webb, and I know he’ll have a strong and positive impact in the team room.”

Simpson will serve as a captain’s assistant for the second time after previously joining the U.S. Team at the 2022 Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow Club in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. A former Wake Forest University standout, Simpson represented the United States in three Presidents Cups (2011, 2013, 2019), compiling a 5-3-2 record while helping the U.S. Team to victory in each appearance.

“It is a tremendous honor to be asked by Brandt to serve as a captain’s assistant,” Simpson said. “Representing the United States has always been a massive career highlight, whether as a player or in a leadership role. Brandt is one of the most respected players in our game, and I’m grateful for the trust he’s placing in me to help support his captaincy at Medinah.”

The 40-year-old is a seven-time PGA TOUR winner, highlighted by victories at the 2012 U.S. Open and 2018 PLAYERS Championship, and added wins at the WM Phoenix Open and RBC Heritage in 2020. He earned his first title at the 2011 Wyndham Championship and has long been regarded as one of the TOUR’s most respected players.

About Rolex
An unrivalled reputation for quality and expertise. Rolex is an integrated and independent Swiss watch manufacture. Headquartered in Geneva, the brand is recognized the world over for its expertise and the quality of its products – symbols of excellence, elegance and prestige. The movements of its Oyster Perpetual and Perpetual watches are certified by COSC, then tested in-house for their precision, performance and reliability. The Superlative Chronometer certification, symbolized by the green seal, confirms that each watch has successfully undergone tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria. These are periodically validated by an independent external organization.

The word ‘Perpetual’ is inscribed on every Rolex Oyster watch. But more than just a word on a dial, it is a philosophy that embodies the company’s vision and values. Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of the company, instilled a notion of perpetual excellence that would drive the company forward. This led Rolex to pioneer the development of the wristwatch and numerous major watchmaking innovations, such as the Oyster, the first waterproof wristwatch, launched in 1926, and the Perpetual rotor self-winding mechanism, invented in 1931. In the course of its history, Rolex has registered over 600 patents. At its four sites in Switzerland, the brand designs, develops and produces the majority of its watch components. A fifth site, also in Switzerland, is under construction and is expected to open in 2029. Rolex carries out its own manufacturing operations, from casting the gold alloys to machining, crafting, assembling and finishing the movement, case, dial and bracelet. Furthermore, the brand is actively involved in supporting the arts and culture, sport and exploration, as well as those who are devising solutions to preserve the planet.
