JERSEY CITY, New Jersey — August 14, 2026 — The Liberty National Foundation continued its support of City Harvest last week by sponsoring the seventh annual Celebrity Chefs & Friends Golf, Tennis & Pickleball Tournament at Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, New Jersey.
The event brought together chefs, restaurateurs, celebrities and golf, tennis and pickleball enthusiasts to raise money for City Harvest’s work rescuing and redistributing free, nutritious food to communities throughout New York City’s five boroughs and beyond.
A culinary tasting reception featured dozens of celebrity chefs mingling with guests and serving signature dishes from some of the region’s leading restaurants. Funds raised from the 2026 event will help feed more than 2 million New Yorkers in need.
“City Harvest does extraordinary work rescuing food and getting it directly into the hands of New Yorkers who need it most,” said Dan Fireman, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Liberty National Golf Club and Executive Chairman of the Liberty National Foundation. “The impact of their work across New York City and into northern New Jersey is remarkable. We are incredibly proud to support their mission and shine the light on an organization doing such important work.”
Liberty National Golf Club’s Chef Alex Lee served as culinary chair for the event, which featured acclaimed Michelin-starred chefs including Kwame Onwuachi, Marcus Samuelsson, Jonathan Waxman, and Rocco DiSpirito. The evening also included a performance by Grammy nominated hip-hop artist and Queens native Ja Rule, along with appearances and instruction by Patrick McEnroe, President of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and Top 100 Golf Instructors Jonathan Yarwood and Jason Birnbaum. Herb Karlitz of Karlitz & Co. is the event’s founder and executive producer.
City Harvest, an official charitable partner of the Liberty National Foundation, is New York City’s first and largest food rescue organization. In more than 40 years serving New Yorkers , the organization has rescued more than one billion pounds of food and delivered it free of charge directly to communities in need through mobile food stands, farmers markets, and hundreds of soup kitchens and food pantries throughout New York City.
