NEW YORK —September 14, 2026— The Liberty National Foundation hosted its annual Shine the Light Gala at NEXUS Club New York, bringing together more than 150 guests to support the Foundation’s charitable initiatives benefiting youth, Veterans, First Responders and local communities.
Established by the Fireman family in 2024, the Liberty National Foundation was created to build on Liberty National Golf Club’s long-standing commitment to giving back through golf and in the broader community. Windrose Advisors served as Presenting Sponsor of the 2026 Shine the Light Gala.
The program featured Baseball Hall of Famer and New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter, the evening’s honoree, in conversation with 16-time Emmy Award-winning broadcaster and author Jimmy Roberts. Jeter was joined on stage for a portion of the evening by his sister, Sharlee Jeter, president of the Turn 2 Foundation. Turn 2, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, is one of the Liberty National Foundation’s charitable partners.
“We are incredibly grateful to Derek for being with us and lending his support to Shine the Light,” said Dan Fireman, executive chairman of the Liberty National Foundation and co-founder and executive chairman of Liberty National Golf Club and. “He is a true sports legend, but what he and his family have built through Turn 2 over the past 30 years is just as impressive. Their commitment to creating opportunities for young people is exactly the kind of work we want to shine a light on and support through the Foundation.”
The Liberty National Foundation supports organizations doing meaningful work in communities throughout the region and beyond. Its Torch Lighters Club brings together Liberty National members and supporters who play an active role in helping advance that work.
“We are thankful to everyone who joined us for Shine the Light and continues to support the Foundation,” Fireman said. “Our Torch Lighters Club, Liberty National members, partners, sponsors and friends make the work of the Foundation possible. Their generosity allows us to support organizations that are doing incredible work every day and help our partners continue making a difference in the communities they serve.”
