CALISTOGA, Calif. — September 3, 2026 — The City of Calistoga has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a qualified and experienced operator to manage, rehabilitate and revitalize the Mt. St. Helena Golf Course at the Calistoga Fairgrounds.
The City is seeking creative proposals that provide a financially sustainable plan for reopening and operating the golf course while preserving it as an important recreational and community asset. Proposals should address course rehabilitation, ongoing maintenance, public access, operational costs and necessary infrastructure improvements.
The selected operator will be expected to submit a detailed rehabilitation and capital improvement plan addressing the condition of the course, irrigation system, greens, tees, fairways, equipment, parking, drainage and related facilities. The RFP also includes opportunities for the rehabilitation and use of the Tucker Building, potentially as a restaurant, bar, pro shop or other compatible operation.
Proposers may also identify additional amenities, partnerships or revenue-generating opportunities that complement the golf course and support the broader revitalization of the Calistoga Fairgrounds. The City is particularly interested in proposals that demonstrate strong operational experience, financial capability and a long-term commitment to maintaining and improving the property.
“The Mt. St. Helena Golf Course is an important part of the Calistoga Fairgrounds and the community’s history,” said Fairgrounds Revitalization Director Sheli Wright. “This RFP provides an opportunity to identify an experienced partner with a realistic and sustainable vision for restoring the course and creating a welcoming recreational destination for residents and visitors.”
Proposals are due by November 16, 2026, 3:00 PM PST
