Fort Myers, Fla. (October 28, 2026) – Colonial Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida has been named to the Honorable Mention list in the 2027–2028 Platinum Clubs of America by The Club Leaders Forum Advisory Board, recognizing the club for excellence and as one of the finest private clubs in America.
The Platinum Clubs of America election, conducted every two years, honors the top 1% of private clubs across the United States. This year, 321 clubs received recognition, including 150 Platinum Clubs and 171 clubs listed with an Honorable Mention. Colonial Country Club's inclusion underscores its commitment to excellence in operations, member experience, and leadership.
“We set out four years ago with a simple goal: to make Colonial the very best version of itself,” said Colonial Country Club General Manager and COO Robert D. Podley CCM, CCE, CAM. “This recognition reflects the extraordinary dedication of our team, the support of our Board, and our relentless focus on the member experience. We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come and excited about what’s ahead.”
“This is a tremendous honor for our entire Colonial community. Our Board has remained focused on enhancing the member experience through thoughtful investments, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This recognition is a testament to what we can accomplish together and something every Colonial member should be proud of,” said Colonial Country Club Board President Dan Casciano.
Earlier this year, Colonial Country Club completed a comprehensive, multi-million-dollar renovation of its amenities, including the golf shop, cart barn, pool area, and community center. This project followed a $9 million golf course renovation in 2025 that was led by golf course architect Gordon Lewis and focused on improving playability, aesthetics, and sustainability of the course.
Colonial Country Club is also recognized as a Distinguished Club by BoardRoom Magazine; one of the Top Four Most Sustainable Clubs in the U.S. by Vivid Leaf; one of ‘America’s Healthiest Clubs’ by Prevo Health Solutions; a Top 100 Golf Shop by the AGM Platinum Awards; and has achieved Top-Ranked status in culinary and racquet operations from Club and Resort Business Magazine.
