ATLANTA, GA and SCOTTSDALE, AZ – PGA TOUR Superstore and PXG invites veterans, active-duty service members and military families to eight PGA TOUR Superstore locations on Saturday, Nov. 14, for "Honoring Veterans," a morning of golf competition to close out Veterans Day week. From 9 to 11 a.m. local time, participants will take part in three PXG challenges, each built around a different club skill. The locations were selected for their proximity to major military installations, with participating stores in Hilton Head, S.C., Jacksonville, FL, St. Petersburg, FL, San Antonio, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, Glendale, AZ, Palm Desert, CA and La Quinta, CA.
Participants will earn points in each challenge based on their results. The player with the highest total at each store will be named the local winner, and the highest total across all eight stores will be named the national winner.
The national winner will receive a complimentary PXG fitting and a custom set of PXG irons and wedges. Each local winner will receive a PXG Battle Ready II putter or PXG Lightning driver.
The challenges:
• Closest to the Line: "Power & Precision." Three drives on the PGA TOUR Superstore simulators with the PXG Lightning driver.
• Closest to the Pin: "The Rifleman." Three chips at TPC Sawgrass' famous island-green 17th hole, using PXG 0311 GEN8 irons.
• Putt: "Honor in Every Detail." Putts from 4, 7 and 10 feet with PXG Battle Ready II putters.
The national winner and a guest will also play a round of golf with retired Marine Col. Kevin Hudson, who leads the PXG for Heroes program and Heroes Squad, a group of veteran ambassadors connected to PXG’s work with the military and veteran community. Hudson is a 26-year Marine Corps veteran.
PXG’s ties to the Marine Corps begin with founder Bob Parsons, who served as a Combat Marine in the Vietnam War. The company pays tribute to his service and the Marine Corps through details in its equipment and special programs.
