SAN JOSE, California – November 4, 2026 – The Institute Golf Club, one of the most exclusive private venues in the US, welcomed an enthusiastic field of clubs and young players from across the golf and Silicon Valley communities for the 2026 Youth on Course Club Cup, raising funds to make the game more accessible to young people.
The invitation-only event brought together some of North America's most prestigious clubs for a day of competition, camaraderie and charitable giving.
Held last month at a stunning venue in Morgan Hill, the Club Cup is an annual event by Youth on Course, the nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking down the financial barriers that can prevent young people from playing golf.
Through its program, members aged 18 and under can play at more than 2,300 partner courses across all 50 US states, Canada and Australia for $5 or less per round, with private funding subsidizing the cost of play. The latest edition of the Club Cup brings the three-year fundraising total to more than $500,000.
The 2026 field featured players representing: The Institute Golf Club, Monterey Peninsula Country Club, Los Angeles Country Club, San Francisco Golf Club, Martis Camp, Rock Creek Cattle Company, Nanea Golf Club, Grove XXIII, Cypress Point Club, Mariner's Point Golf Center, Prairie Dunes Country Club, Diablo Country Club, Southern Hills Country Club, The Silverleaf Club, Burlingame Country Club, Menlo Country Club, Serrano Country Club, California Golf Club (Cal Club), Somerset Hills Country Club, San Luis Obispo Country Club, Concession Golf Club, El Niguel Country Club, Merced Golf & Country Club, Lahontan Golf Club, Oaks Golf Club and Colorado Golf Club.
Jason Cheng and his team won the 2026 Club Cup after a day of good-natured but intense competition on The Institute's breathtaking layout.
Cheng, the jubilant winner, said: "We had such an incredible time at The Institute Golf Club! The course was pure and reminiscent of several of golf's greatest holes. The staff's attention to detail and hospitality were impeccable. And the fact that The Institute believes, like we do, in supporting the next generation through Youth on Course made for a truly special experience."
Tucked away in the breathtaking hills south of San Jose, The Institute Golf Club has long been a labor of love for the Fry family, of Fry's Electronics fame since it was built in the 1990s. With a select membership of just over 50 and a vision built around privacy, exceptional hospitality and ultra-luxury, the club provided a distinctive setting for the fundraising event.
Adam Heieck, CEO of Youth on Course, said: "The Club Cup is a fantastic example of how the golf community can come together to create meaningful opportunities for the next generation. By helping young people access affordable golf, we are giving them the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy the many benefits the game can bring."
Randy Fry, owner of The Institute Golf Club, said: "We were delighted to be able to host this wonderful event. It mirrors our commitment to supporting the wider game, bringing together golfers from across the country to enjoy a world-class venue while contributing to a cause that can make a lasting difference."
Since launching in Northern California in 2006 with just six partner courses, Youth on Course has grown into an international program with more than 400,000 members and over 2,300 course partners, having subsidized more than six million rounds of golf so far.

About The Institute Golf Club
For over two decades, The Institute Golf Club existed almost entirely outside public consciousness, operated as an executive-only, invitation-only golf experience for Fry's Electronics from 1995 to 2019. Re-established as an ultra-high-end, member-owned private golf club, The Institute Golf Club now represents one of the most discreet and pristine golfing environments in the United States. The 8,069-yard venue has been curated and updated with Randy Fry's vision in mind of creating one of the world's most stunning golf courses where privacy, patience and restraint are the watchwords.
