QUESTION OF THE WEEK
What are your thoughts on Keegan Bradley being named the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain?
Send replies on this question or other topics and questions you would like to have asked to shall@buffalogroupe.com. For a response to be published, you must include your first and last name, along with the city and state of residence.
Presidents Cup: 1Password is named the third Global Partner of the 2024 Presidents Cup, joining Cognizant and Rolex. The Presidents Cup returns to The Royal Montreal Golf Club, Sept. 24-29. The Toronto-based 1Password is a developer of password-management solutions.
Auberge Resorts Collection: Manager of one-of-a-kind luxury hotels, resorts and residences is appointed by Reuben Brothers, a London-based leader in real estate, to oversee Cambridge House, the former In and Out Military Club, in Mayfair, London. The imaginative renewal of this historic 102-room property at 94 Piccadilly is set to open in late 2025.
PGA Tour: Announces its 2024 FedExCup Fall schedule, consisting of eight events that serve as the final chance for players to secure or improve their status for the 2025 FedEx Cup Season. The FedEx Cup Fall begins at the Napa Valley Golf Championship (Sept. 9-15) before taking a two-week hiatus due to the Presidents Cup (Sept. 23-29). The fall slate will resume with the Sanderson Farms Championship (Sept. 30-Oct. 6), inaugural Black Desert Championship (Oct. 7-13), Shriners Children’s Open (Oct. 14-20), Zozo Championship (Oct. 21-27), World Wide Technology Championship (Nov. 4-10), Butterfield Bermuda Championship (Nov. 11-17) and RSM Classic (Nov. 18-24).
Nippon Shaft: Ewen Ferguson used N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 120 x steel shafts in his irons and wedges to win the BMW International Open.
LA Golf: Announces that it will introduce its first driver set, co-designed by Bryson DeChambeau and Jeff Meyer, in 2025.
Callaway Golf: Introduces its family of Opus and Opus Platinum wedges, which feature the brand’s new Spin Gen Face Technology. The technology delivers spin and control by combining three key elements on the club’s face — a tighter pitch puts more grooves on the face, an offset groove-in-groove design creates spin when opening the face, and an aggressive face blast for spin and bite on partial shots. The Opus offers a complete lineup of sole shapes from narrow to wide. Opus Wedges will be available at retail on July 26 for $179.99 each.
FootJoy: Renews its partnership with Harris Tweed Hebrides to introduce a footwear range titled “The Stamp” Premiere Series. This limited-edition collaboration boasts a distinctive hand-woven tweed with a basket-weave pattern, reminiscent of a postage stamp, paying homage to the iconic eighth hole at Royal Troon Golf Club, site of this year’s Open Championship. The shoes are available in both Field and Wilcox models, and come with a unique shoe bag made from the same cloth as featured on the shoes. The FJ x Harris Tweed Premiere Series are available online and at select retailers while supplies last.
Ping: Announces the next generation of its custom-fit, custom-built Prodi G junior clubs. Also, the company introduces WebFit Junior, a web app that recommends club specifications and set makeup based on the answers to a few questions about the junior player. The custom-engineered set is comprised of 10 clubs and two putter options — a 15-degree titanium driver, 22-degree fairway wood, 28-degree hybrid, perimeter-weighted irons (6-9, PW), specialty wedges (54-degree S, 58-degree H) and tour-proven putter models (Anser and Tyne H). The lightweight clubs can be ordered in any combination. Two sizes of the Hoofer Prodi G carry bags can be purchased separately.
