FIRST THOUGHT

The PGA Tour continues to wade deeper into social media with the renewal and expansion of its content partnership with Twitter. Beginning with the Honda Classic in February, the Tour will air live audio programming on Twitter’s Spaces. The content will include interviews and features with current players and analysts. PGA Tour Live, the Tour’s streaming service, has already started hosting Spaces on its Twitter account.

Announced: By Liv Golf Investments, that David Hill, who previously served as a senior executive vice president at 21st Century FOX and the president of FOX Sports, will serve as a consultant to the production team. "For current and would-be golf fans around the world, we need to revamp and revitalize the viewing experience to maximize the sport's entertainment value," Hill said. 

Named: By Payntr, 2003 Masters champion Mike Weir as a brand ambassador for its golf shoes.

Named: By Callaway Golf, David Duval and Danny Lee as the newest members of its professional tour staff.

Introduced: By Titleist, the third generation of its AVX golf ball. First introduced in 2018, the company claims the new version provides a low flight, low spin, soft feel alternative to its flagship Pro V1 and Pro V1x offerings. The AVX balls will retail for $49.99 and be available beginning Feb. 4.
