Thirty years. When newly minted U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Zach Johnson takes his team of Yanks to Rome in 2023, "30 years" will be mentioned often as that will be how long it's been since the U.S. last won on European soil — a 15-13 victory at The Belfry. Thirty years, spanning six American losses. Said Johnson after being named captain on Monday, "... it is equally sobering to understand the scope of our challenge in Rome, as we have not won on the road in three decades." Sobering indeed.

Announced: By the PGA Tour, a content and sales agreement with GolfWRX that will support increased equipment coverage at PGA Tour events through 2026. GolfWRX will leverage the PGA Tour to develop an enhanced equipment content strategy, while providing GolfWRX with on-site video footage captured from its tournaments. The PGA Tour will represent sales and marketing opportunities for both properties as well as advertising operations for GolfWRX.
Named: By the PGA of America, Zach Johnson to serve as the United States Ryder Cup Team Captain for the 44th Ryder Cup in 2023 at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome, Italy. Johnson, 46, becomes the 30th U.S. Captain since the Ryder Cup’s inception in 1927. He played in five Ryder Cups (2006, ‘10, ‘12, ‘14, ‘16) and served as a U.S. Vice Captain in the last two Ryder Cups.
Announced: By Webber Marketing & Consulting, a partnership with the American Junior Golf Association to develop opportunities for minority golfers. Benefits of the partnership will include paid internship opportunities, scholarships and employment opportunities.
