Peter Malnati was visibly emotional after winning the Valspar Championship on Sunday. While earning a Masters invitation can do that to a player, the fact that Malnati, 36, had not won on the PGA Tour since the 2015 Sanderson Farms Championship also was a factor. The drought between wins was 3,059 days — or 8 years, 4 months and 16 days. Also, his No. 184 ranking in the Official World Golf Ranking is the second-highest by a Valspar Championship winner since 2008 (No. 205 / Kevin Streelman / 2013.
