Kathy Whitworth, as most golf fans know, is the all-time winningest player on the LPGA Tour with 88 wins. But did you know she also totaled 93 runner-up finishes — 20 of which came in playoff losses? Whitworth, who won at least once a record 17 consecutive years, played in an LPGA record 28 playoffs in her career and posted an 8-20 record.
Here are the LPGA's all-time leaders in playoff appearances and their respective records:
1. Kathy Whitworth: 28, 8-20
2. Annika Sorenstam: 22, 16-6
3. JoAnne Carner: 20, 10-10
4. Judy Rankin: 16, 4-12
5. Sandra Haynie: 15, 8-7
5. Nancy Lopez: 15, 8-7
