I guess I’m a little surprised at Scottie Scheffler. Not really disappointed, because it’s very difficult to back up a season like he had last year. But I thought he would have at least come close to winning by now.
The major story for me is Rory McIlroy completing the Grand Slam. I’m so happy to see him smiling and relaxed on the golf course. That man has carried a huge burden for the last couple of years and I’m glad he is returning to the Rory that we all knew was in there.

The top storylines of the year:
1. Rory McIlroy winning a Masters green jacket.
2. TV ratings for golf rebounding.
3. The success of TGL.
Disappointments of the year
1. No deal between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf
2. Tiger Woods injuring his Achillies tendon

Storyline No. 1: Everything Rory McIlroy.
Storyline No. 2: Europeans dominate with early PGA Tour wins.
Disappointment No. 1: No wins from Scottie Scheffler or Xander Schauffele.
Disappointment No. 2: U.S. Ryder Cup Team slow to take shape. Stars like Patrick Cantlay, Wyndham Clark, Jordan Speith and Collin Morikawa not showing much.
Surprises: Justin Thomas makes it all the way back with a big win following a disappointing collapse [at the Valspar Championship] and the emergence of Andrew Novak.

I would say the top storyline of the golf season so far has been Rory McIlroy‘s Masters victory to make him the sixth player in the history of golf to attain the Grand Slam.
