Have we caught our breath yet? Because the performance Scottie Scheffler delivered in winning the CJ Cup Byron Nelson Sunday was breathtaking. While his 31-under-par 253 only equaled the PGA Tour's lowest 72-hole in history (since 1983) — joining Ludvig Åberg (2023 RSM Classic) and Justin Thomas (2017 Sony Open in Hawaii) — he did so with such ease. His eight-stroke margin of victory was the second-largest in CJ Cup Byron Nelson history (10 strokes, Sam Snead, 1957) and the largest since Dustin Johnson's 11-stroke romp at the 2020 FedEx St. Jude Championship. He also extends his streak as world No. 1 to 103 consecutive weeks (third-longest streak all-time) and extends his world No. 1 total weeks to 138 (third-most all-time).
