Truist Championship Talking Points:
▪️ Reigning champion Sepp Straka seeks to become the first player to successfully defend at the Truist Championship. He set the tournament 72-hole scoring record of 264 (16 under) last year en route to a two-stroke victory over Shane Lowry and Justin Thomas.
▪️ Rory McIlroy is a four-time winner of the Truist Championship (2010, 2015, 2021, 2024). Has won 30 times on the PGA Tour, tied with Horton Smith for the 16th most all-time.
▪️ Matt Fitzpatrick has won each of his last two starts on Tour — RBC Heritage and Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
▪️ Cameron Young is making his 108th start on Tour this week — three wins in his last 14 starts after zero wins in first 93 career starts.
▪️ This week marks the 23rd playing of the Truist Championship, making its return to Quail Hollow Golf Club after being held at The Philadelphia Cricket Club in 2025.
▪️ Seven past champions return to the Truist Championship — Sepp Straka (2025), Rory McIlroy(2010, 2015, 2021, 2024), Max Homa (2022, 2019), Jason Day (2018), Brian Harman (2017), Rickie Fowler (2012), Lucas Glover (2011).
