FIRST THOUGHT

Tuesday, Arccos released its "Annual Driving Distance Report: 2025 Edition," its seventh. The 2025 edition was derived from more than 4 million rounds — recorded during 2024 by Arccos members. While there was no shortage of numbers to mull over here are two of Arccos' key findings:

> Stability in Average Driving Distance
— Men averaged 224.0 yards in 2018 and 224.7 yards in 2024.
— Women averaged 179.2 yards in 2018 and 176.2 yards in 2024.

> The Impact of Player Age on Driving Distance
— Men aged 15 to 19 (longest) averaged 241.6 yards — 51.1 yards longer than those in their 70s (shortest).
— Women in their 20s (longest) averaged 201.1 yards — 42.7 yards longer than those in their 60s (shortest).
