RAIN CHECK
Forecast: June 2024
KEY FACTOR
Going into June, El Nino is officially gone as sea surface temperatures in the tropical Pacific cool through neutral territory. Current expectations are for La Nina to develop in late summer or early fall, which will likely lead to a very active hurricane season. Pulling out the decaying El Ninos that were much drier in spring across the U.S. than this season, we’re looking at the rainfall totals from the years of 1980, 2010, 2016 and 2020 as indicators of what to expect in June.

PROJECTED REGIONAL IMPACTS FOR GOLF OPERATORS
> Similar years suggest that golf facilities in the High Plains, central/western Texas and in the Rockies will see drier conditions, leading to more playable days in June.
