RBC Canadian Open Talking Points
➡️ Established in 1904, the RBC Canadian Open is the second-oldest non-major on the PGA Tour. The 2026 edition takes place June 11–14 at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (North Course), which is hosting the event for the second consecutive season.
➡️ Defending champion Ryan Fox, who won in a four-hole playoff last year, returns alongside four other past tournament winners: Sean O'Hair (2011), Jhonattan Vegas (2016–17), Nick Taylor (2023), and Robert MacIntyre (2024).
➡️ The 147-player field represents 23 countries and includes 14 of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), headlined by Matt Fitzpatrick (No. 4), Justin Rose (No. 6), Tommy Fleetwood (No. 7), and Collin Morikawa (No. 10).
➡️ A total of 21 Canadian players are competing. This group features rookie Sudarshan Yellamaraju, who is currently the highest-ranked Canadian in the FedExCup standings at No. 48, and Corey Conners, who is the highest-ranked Canadian in the world rankings at No. 54 OWGR.
➡️ This week serves as a critical qualifier; the top three players who make the cut (and are not already exempt) will earn spots in the 154th Open Championship. Additionally, the top 60 players in the OWGR following this tournament will lock in positions for the upcoming U.S. Open.
