Monday Jul 17, 2023

By winning the Scottish Open on Sunday, Rory McIlroy continued to bolster an already Hall of Fame resume. His 24th PGA Tour win ties him with Dustin Johnson and Gary Player for 26th in all-time Tour wins. He also became the first player to win the Scottish Open (2023), Irish Open (2016) and British Open (2014). And if you think winning the week prior to the British Open is a bad omen, consider the fact that McIlroy is the last player to win the week before a major — 2014 when he won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the following week won the PGA Championship.
