Billy Sampson is, by profession, the director of instruction at Old Tabby Links in Spring Island, South Carolina. But he's also quite the fundraiser. On Sunday, at around 6:30 a.m., Sampson teed off in his 13th Hero100 Golf Marathon, which benefits the military foundation Folds of Honor. He then played for 12 1/2 hours, mostly in the rain. But what makes Sampson's feat impressive is that he needed to raise only $87,000 in pledges to surpass $1 million all-time in donations. As of Tuesday morning, with pledges still trickling in, Sampson had surpassed $132,000 for this year.
