Lexi Thompson, an 11-time LPGA winner, received a sponsor exemption and will make her PGA Tour debut at this week's Shriners Children's Open. Thompson will become the seventh woman to compete in a PGA Tour event and first since Brittany Lincicome missed the cut at the 2018 Barbasol Championship. The other five players are: Michelle Wie West (eight PGA Tour starts, the last being the 2008 Barracuda Championship), Babe Didrikson Zaharias (seven PGA Tour starts, the last being the 1946 L.A. Open), Suzy Whaley (2003 Travelers Championship), Annika Sorenstam (2003 Charles Schwab Challenge) and Shirley Spork (1952 Barracuda Championship).
