FIRST THOUGHT

How good of a career will Collin Morikawa, 26, have? Well, earlier this year, Australian Aaron Baddeley made his 500th start on the PGA Tour. To put that into perspective, that's 25 starts for 20 years, which is a difficult and noteworthy achievement. On Sunday, at the Zozo Championship in Chiba, Japan, Morikawa won his sixth PGA Tour title in his 99th Tour start. Loosely extrapolated, if Morikawa were to win six titles for each 100 starts en route to 500, he would reach 30 PGA Tour wins — tying him with Horton Smith, who is currently 16th on the all-time wins list. Gene Littler and Lee Trevino have 29, while Jimmy Demaret has 31.
