The golf industry got a nice bump in September as equipment sales in the U.S. were up 6.1% over September 2022, according to Golf Datatech. The biggest category was irons, as sales were up 26.5% percent over 2022.

TFC: What advice do you have for someone considering a career in golf?
Jon Wilson: There are many specific areas within the golf industry to explore. Research all areas — instruction, management, representatives, coaching, etc. Get as much advice as possible.
TFC: What is your favorite instructional tip to share with a golfer?
JW: Tee drill. Five minutes a day, three tees 6 inches apart, quarter-inch above the soil. Full swing commitment to clip tees out of the ground for consistent ball striking.
