FIRST THOUGHT

Six weeks after his most recent back surgery, Tiger Woods still managed to travel to the Bahamas to host the annual Hero World Challenge. Naturally, fans and reporters were eager for an update on his rehabilitation progress — a subject Woods discussed Tuesday, marking his first public appearance since the procedure.

"I just got cleared last week to chip and putt," Woods said. “So, it's been slow. Can't really do much on a disc replacement; you gotta let it set.”

There is significant doubt about whether he’ll compete in The Masters but in the meantime, he says he's enjoying the college recruit process with son Charlie.
