FIRST THOUGHT

Sports Business Journal has published its 2022 Reader Survey, a wide range of questions regarding the sports business industry — and golf was right there in the mix. In response to the question "Which of the following is the biggest sports business story of the year?" LIV Golf was No. 1, garnering 27% of the vote. Interestingly, when asked if they had watched a LIV Golf event, 82% of the respondents answered "no." Meanwhile, LIV Golf CEO and commissioner Greg Norman tied for fourth as the most intriguing sports executive, capturing 3% of the vote along with MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan received 2% of the vote.
