FIRST THOUGHT

Thirty-one players earned their LPGA Tour cards through Final Qualifying Tuesday in Mobile, Alabama. Here are some notable facts:
▪️ Of the 31, 17 are rookies, 14 are returning to the Tour.
▪️ Players from 15 countries qualified, led by the United States with five. The People's Republic of China qualified four, followed by Japan, Germany and Republic of Korea (three each); France, Canada and England (two each); and Slovenia, Thailand, Italiy, Sweden, Spain, Ireland and Switzerland (one each).
▪️ Germany's Helen Briem was medalist at 13-under par.
▪️ The youngest player to qualify was Suvichaya Vinjichaitham, 19, of Thailand. The oldest was Ryann O'Toole, 38, who was a 2011 U.S. Solheim Cup member and who won the 2021 Women's Scottish Open.
