Guest: Lawrence Bennett, lifelong Augustan and longtime Augusta National Golf Club employee.

Description: Bennett joins host Ward Clayton to tell Masters tales. Bennett, whose father was legendary Augusta National caddiemaster Freddie Bennett, was a high school teacher and moonlighted as a chauffeur and overseer of the green jackets for nearly a half-century while working at Augusta National Golf Club.

Talking Points:
▪️ Lawrence Bennett had many occasions to drive well-known guests from the Augusta airport to Augusta National, including actor Christopher "Dracula" Lee and Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
▪️ Bennett and his work associates had an off-site plan for all the old green jackets at Augusta National.
▪️ Bennett was among employees on site in 1977 when club co-founder Clifford Roberts committed suicide, and he knows where his ashes are spread.
▪️ Beginning at age 11, Bennett worked at Augusta National in the shadow of his father, famous caddiemaster Freddie Bennett, who paired members and prominent players with Augusta National’s all-Black caddie corps.
