Question of the week [October 14-20]: If you could write an alternative ending to any of 2024's majors — men or women — what would it be?

Rory McIlroy makes both short putts at the 16th and 18th holes in the final round to win the U.S. Open.

As compelling as the ending of the U.S. Open was, I would have liked for Rory McIlroy to make those two 3-footers and win by one. And I like Bryson DeChambeau, and he deserved to win.

I really would’ve liked to have seen Rory McIlroy make the putt [at the U.S. Open] at Pinehurst on the 18th hole.

I would have liked to see Bryson DeChambeau win the PGA along with the U.S. Open. He’s dealt with constant criticism right from when he bulked up until now with LIV. His winning two majors in one year would have further enraged the fools who continue to criticize pros who opted to make more money by joining that tour.
My hope for 2025 would be Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Cam Smith and Joaquin Niemann sweeping the majors as LIV players.

If I could rewrite the 2024 golf season, I would have Brooke Henderson winning the Chevron Championship and Rory McIlroy winning the U.S. Open.
