I believe Ludvig Aberg will come out of the pack on the weekend to surprise all — Aberg family and friends excluded — to capture his first major. A Cinderella story to be sure. The course suits his game and assuming he gets his flat stick under control, it will be an exciting finish for the first major of the year.

Betting on Scottie Scheffler to win would be easy to do based on his record at Augusta and his trend the last couple of tournaments. The smart bet would be to take the field over Scottie or Rory McIlroy. The biggest storyline will probably be that Rory McIlroy can't win the Masters.

The Masters is always a special time of year for me. Back in the 1950s and '60s — and being from South Carolina — I used to hitchhike to Augusta and buy a $5 ticket at the ticket booth. I no longer hitchhike and no longer pay $5 to get into the Masters. The smells of the flowers, trees and roars of the crowds cannot be duplicated anywhere else.
Rory McIlroy is playing good, so he is my pick. Tony Finau is my dark horse, and the trees that came down will be a big storyline.
