The continued question of the future of the PGA Tour. Get on with it. Forget about the Saudis and their LIV. It's time with the new management of the PGA Tour to say what the 2026 Tour looks like. When will it start, who will play and move on. This continued rancor about LIV is old news. The PGA Tour has the best players playing the best places in the USA and their ratings on TV are outstanding. LIV hasn't signed a superstar in years and will probably lose one or two within a year. Let the new head of the tour run the business, name Tiger Woods the commissioner and move on.

Rory McIlroy wins the Masters to fulfill the Grand Slam, becoming the sixth player in history to win the four majors in professional golf. Hands down, nothing remotely comes close in comparison, although I’d supplement the idea that there are seven players when you add Bobby Jones to the list as he won what were the 4 major tournaments of his day — he was an amateur winning against professionals, and he accomplished the feat in a single year. That is something nobody has done since — even if you include Tiger’s amazing run of all four Majors in a calendar year — but that would be quibbling in some circles.
Regardless, what Rory has done is truly remarkable and indeed historical.

To me, the biggest story of 2025 is Rory McIlroy’s victory at the Masters. With the completion of the Grand Slam, the crazy erratic play, the pressure applied from Justin Rose, it was the event of the year.

Rory McIlroy completing his Grand Slam. Second would be Tiger Woods being so crippled that he will never be able to compete at any level.
