The Land as It Lies: Chambers Bay

Explore how architect Robert Trent Jones ll transformed an old gravel mine into a public course worthy of the 2015 U.S. Open

Chambers Bay, which sits hard against the Puget Sound in University Place, Washington, is featured in the latest The Land as It Lies series.

The Robert Trent Jones II design opened in 2007 and the public golf course quickly caught the attention of the United States Golf Association. The USGA awarded Chambers Bay the 2010 U.S. Amateur and followed that up with the 2015 U.S. Open, won by Jordan Spieth.

Up River Film Company sits with Jones to discuss the course's origins and key architectural features.
