Forecast: March 2025

While the forecast looks promising for the Southeast, Texas and California this month, the rest of the country will have to deal with varied wet conditions.

KEY FACTOR
While ocean conditions remain steady, the Pacific’s weak La Niña continues to signal potential weather instability across the U.S. This month’s forecast aligns closely with past patterns from 1981, 1984, 2009 and 2014, with 1955 and 1985 now in the mix. Here’s what golf course operators should keep an eye on as the season begins to kick off in select areas of the country.

PROJECTED REGIONAL IMPACTS FOR GOLF OPERATORS
> Drier than normal conditions stretching from the Southeast to Texas and California, which should bode well for the start of the season in terms of playable days in March.
> Wetter than normal weather from the Pacific Northwest through the Great Lakes.
> Near-normal rainfall for much of the Plains and Mid-Atlantic regions.
> Slightly wetter conditions expected in New England.
