The Valero Texas Open may not be as old as the Alamo, but it is a PGA Tour relic. The inaugural Texas Open was played long before corporate sponsors in 1922 and won by Bob MacDonald. For the exception of seven interruptions totaling 10 years, the tournament has been played every year since, making it the third-oldest PGA Tour co-sponsored tournament and the longest-running PGA Tour event to be held in the same city its entire existence.
