FIRST THOUGHT

The marketing slogan "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" certainly applies to the LPGA, which has had a tournament presence dating back to 1961. The LPGA Championship, now known as the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, moved to Vegas' Stardust Country in 1961 and stayed through 1966. The Las Vegas area later hosted the LPGA's Desert Inn Classic (1971-1974), J&B Scotch Pro-Am (1971-1985), Las Vegas LPGA (1990-1993) and LPGA Takefuji Classic (2003-2006). This week's T-Mobile Match Play is being played at Shadow Creek Golf Course.
