It's OK if you looked at the Zurich Classic of New Orlean's leaderboard on Thursday night, did a double take and then uttered the words "Who?" Isaiah Salinda and Kevin Velo teamed to shoot a tournament record 14-under 58 in the opening round's four-ball format. The round began with a nine-hole record of 10-under 26 — the previous record was 28. So, who are these PGA Tour rookies making their Zurich Classic debut? Salinda, 28, played collegiately at Stanford and is currently ranked 163rd in the world. Salinda is making his 10th start of the season, with a third-place finish at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld being his career-best finish. Velo, 27, played at San Jose State and is ranked 363rd in the world. He is making his 11th start in 2025, with two made cuts and a season-best T40 at the Puerto Rico Open. In 2024, Salinda and Velo won in back-to-back weeks on the Korn Ferry Tour.
