WOMEN'S OPEN NOTEBOOK

➡️ World No. 1 Nelly Korda can reach multiple career milestones at the Women’s Open. A victory would give Korda the final two points required for LPGA Hall of Fame eligibility, complete her career Grand Slam, and make her the LPGA Tour's all-time official career money leader ahead of Annika Sorenstam. Korda currently leads the tour in official money ($5,712,524) and scoring average (69.05) this season.
➡️ World No. 3 Haeran Ryu enters the final major of the season having finished solo second or better in her last three starts, highlighted by major victories at the Women’s PGA Championship and the Amundi Evian Championship. Ryu, who leads the tour in greens in regulation at 80.37%, can win the Rolex Annika Major Award with a higher finish than Korda this week.
➡️ Reigning champion Miyu Yamashita makes her fifth Women’s Open start, attempting to defend an LPGA Tour title for the first time. Ranked No. 6 in the world, Yamashita became a first-time tour winner at this event in 2025. She leads the LPGA Tour in scrambling percentage (69.31%) and has finished tied for fifth or better in her last two starts.
➡️ The Women’s Open serves as the final qualifying event for the European Solheim Cup Team. ... Along with Korda, major champions In Gee Chun and Minjee Lee each need a win this week to complete the career Grand Slam. ... World No. 12 Lydia Ko sits $348,792 behind Sorenstam for the all-time LPGA Tour career money lead.

GOLF IN MOTION MONTHLY

Golf participation is only part of the story. Understanding where consumers are spending their time across the golf ecosystem provides a clearer picture of where momentum is building.

Buffalo Research's new Golf in Motion Monthly tracks year-over-year visitation trends across traditional golf facilities, off-course retail, golf entertainment venues and sporting goods retailers using anonymized movement data from approximately 30 million mobile devices.

Each monthly report is designed to provide the golf industry with a consistent, data-driven benchmark to help operators, brands, investors and industry leaders identify trends, and make more informed business decisions.

This debut edition includes year-to-date visitation trends through June 2026 and serves as the foundation for a recurring monthly industry intelligence report from Buffalo Research.

The report is free. Upon signing up, you will receive the updated monthly reports straight to your inbox.
