—————

If perception is indeed reality, then golf is in a really good position. According to the National Golf Foundation, 30% of non-golfers surveyed in 2022 used words or phrases that were favorable in describing golf. That figure is up significantly from 2013 when the percentage was at 18%. On the flip side, in 2013 57% of non-golfers surveyed used unfavorable words or phrases to describe golf. That dropped to 37% in 2022.

rounds and weather icon.png
ROUNDS AND WEATHER
> Rounds played finished the week down 4% vs. 2022 due largely to increased precipitation and temperature.

The Mountain Pacific finished down 11% as a result of Colorado and Las Vegas experiencing heavy precipitation over the weekend. The Great Plains experienced another wave of record-breaking heat, forcing golfers to play outside of the prime midday tee times. That resulted in the region finishing down 8% in rounds vs. last year.

> Pacing over the next seven days is currently up 18% with all regions other than Florida pacing higher than prior year. Florida is recovering from tropical storm Idalia, resulting in a slowdown in pace over the next few days.

> Weekday and weekend play saw a significant shift toward the weekend as a result of the three named storms in the past week.
