Standing on the 15th tee of Saturday's third round at the World Wide Technology Championship, Matt Kuchar had a six-stroke lead and an 86% probability of winning. When he walked off the 15th green with a two-stroke lead after carding a quadruple bogey, Kuchar's win probability had dropped 40 points to 46%. According to Data Golf, dating back to 2017 when it started tracking such probabilities, Kuchar's drop is the second largest to have occurred before the start of the final round. The largest was following the third round of the 2021 Memorial Tournament when Jon Rahm went from 90% to 0% after being forced to withdraw due to a positive COVID test.
