FIRST THOUGHT

In terms of golf rounds played in the United States, 2023 is shaping up to be one of the best ever. Heading into December, rounds played are 3% ahead of 2022, which was a strong year itself. So do we expect the bubble to burst in 2024? Not necessarily. A recent National Golf Foundation survey of what it considers as being Core golfers (those golfers who play eight or more rounds a year) shows that 75% expect to play the same rate in 2024 and that 18% anticipate playing more. In 2023, 73% of Core golfers say they have played the same or more number of rounds compared to previous years.
