The Abaco Club: Dedicated its sports field, Wake Field, in honor of former Major League Baseball pitcher and Abaco member Tim Wakefield and his wife, Stacy, on March 8. Tim died in October 2023 from a seizure resulting from brain cancer, and Stacy died of pancreatic cancer in February 2024. The ceremony included the Wakefield's children, Brianna and Trevor. Also, Boston-based Southworth, owner and operator of The Abaco Club, located in The Bahamas, made a contribution to the Red Sox Foundation in the name of Tim and Stacy Wakefield. A homage to historic Fenway Park, complete with its own Green Monster, Wake Field is the club's new sports field where members and guests can play wiffle ball or kickball.
