Similar to "Saturday Night Live's" five-timer host club, Jake Knapp joined an exclusive fraternity on Friday at the Cognizant Classic. Knapp recorded a 12-under 59 on PGA National Resort's Champion course to become the 15th player to post a sub-60 round in PGA Tour history. Knapp, 30, is the 14th different player to shoot a sub-60 round on the PGA Tour — Jim Furyk has a 58 (2016) and 59 (2013). It's also the first sub-60 score on the PGA Tour in 238 days since the 2024 John Deere Classic (Hayden Springer, 59, first round). The remaining members are Cameron Young (2024), Scottie Scheffler (2020), Kevin Chappell (2019), Brandt Snedeker (2018), Adam Hadwin (2017), Justin Thomas (2017), Stuart Appleby (2010), Paul Goydos (2010), David Duval (1999), Chip Beck (1991) and Al Geiberger (1977).
