Corey Conners may not be on the leaderboard after the opening round of the Valero Texas Open, but he's lurking. A 2-under 70 has him tied for 17th and still in position to make history. Should Conners, the two-time reigning champion, win again this week, he would become the first player since World War II to earn his first three wins at the same event.
