Rory McIlroy needed 15 years to complete his career Grand Slam, the longest stretch of the six grand slam winners. He won the 2011 U.S. Open and had three-fourths of the Slam after winning the 2014 British Open. Tiger Woods was the fastest, doing it in four years (1997-2000), followed by Jack Nicklaus (five, 1962-66), Gary Player (seven, 1959-1965), Ben Hogan (eight, 1946-1953) and Gene Sarazen (14, 1922-35). Before McIlroy's win Sunday, Sarazen was the only player to complete the career Grand Slam at the Masters.
Also, McIlroy's fifth major championship victory ties him for 15th all-time with Seve Ballesteros, James Braid, Brooks Koepka, Byron Nelson, John Henry Taylor and Peter Thomson. He won for the 29th time on the PGA Tour and is tied for 17th all-time with Harry Cooper, Gene Littler and Lee Trevino.
