With little dispute, Scottie Scheffler is No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking and Rory McIlroy is a solid No. 2, especially after his win at last week's Irish Open. But what would it take for McIlroy to overtake Scheffler? According to The Forecaddie, which consulted with the OWGR, Scheffler has an average point total of 20.6129, while McIlroy is at 11.6768. The earliest McIlroy could oust Scheffler is March 22 — and that is if Scheffler goes completely off the golf grid and McIlroy continues to play like he has in 2025, which included winning the Masters and Players.
