INDUSTRY NOTES

COMPETITION

Fripp Island to Bermuda Invite: Lee University's Drew Zielinski won the inaugural collegiate tournament on Oct. 21 to become the first NCAA Division II golfer to earn a PGA Tour exemption. Zielinski earned a spot in the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, Nov. 13-16, after winning the 54-hole tournament at Ocean Point Golf Links on Fripp Island, South Carolina, with a 9-under par score.

COURSES

Country Club of North Carolina: The Pinehurst, North Carolina, club is selected as a Distinguished Club with Elite status by Boardroom Magazine. A three-step merit-based process includes nomination from a GM of a current Distinguished Club; a member experience survey to gather feedback on their satisfaction across numerous areas and on-site physical inspection and interviews with Club staff. Only 3% of clubs reach Elite status and CCNC is not eligible for the highest status — Iconic — because it is not reached 75 years of existence.
