The Sony Open, the PGA Tour's second stop of the season, has several significant notables this week, including:
> Kevin Kisner, who made his debut as an NBC Sports golf analyst last week at The Sentry, returns to playing and will make his 300th career PGA Tour start.
> Gary Woodland will make his first start on the PGA Tour since the 2023 Wyndham Championship after undergoing surgery to extract a brain lesion.
> 15 of the 36 rookies in the 2024 PGA Tour class are scheduled to make their debuts.
> Will Zalatoris makes his Sony Open debut and return to the PGA Tour after being limited to seven starts during the 2022-23 season after undergoing a microdiscectomy on his back.

Watson Links Mentors Foundation: Names Pauly Hart as executive director, effective Jan. 2, 2024. Hart will run the nationwide Watson Links program, an inspired initiative of eight-time major champion Tom Watson, that provides opportunities for kids to learn the game.

Texas Golf Hall of Fame: Opens nominations for the 2024 Class of the Texas Golf Hall of Fame. The public can nominate qualified individuals before the deadline on Feb. 21, 2024. Nominations for individuals and courses can be made in six categories: Amateur Player, Golf Professional/Teacher, Lifetime Achievement, Professional Services (new in 2024), Professional Player, and the Texas Registry of Historic Golf Courses. This will be the Texas Golf Hall of Fame’s 30th class to be inducted since the Hall’s inception in 1978.
